How it get started - Founder Story
I used to work in a dog-friendly shared office where colleagues often brought their furry companions. During that time, I became completely obsessed with dogs without even realizing why. Looking back, I now understand—dogs are truly angels. Whenever I felt overwhelmed or drained at work, just seeing them lifted my spirits. Their presence was healing, and playing with them made everything feel lighter.
One day, while walking down the street, I saw a woman with a white cane making her way slowly across the road. I instinctively stopped to watch. As she walked, she suddenly bumped into a bus stop sign. The impact looked painful, but what struck me even more was how she barely reacted—almost as if she had grown used to these constant obstacles. In that moment, I realised how helpless she must feel navigating the world without sight.
Not long after, on my way home from work, I stumbled upon a festival with food stalls and music. One stall caught my eye—it had a poster of a dog.
As I walked closer, I discovered it was a guide dog charity. I learned about their incredible work and the dedication required to train just one guide dog. Right then, I made a decision that changed everything—I sponsored a newborn guide dog named Doris, a beautiful Golden Retriever-Labrador mix. Little did I know that Doris would later become the inspiration behind my brand logo.
Doris is lucky—she was chosen to bring independence and joy to someone’s life. But she is also unlucky—because the person she will guide has lost something most of us take for granted.
Even during my career gap, I never stopped my 24-month sponsorship. Instead, I looked for ways to do even more. That’s how this brand was born.
Love, Healing, and Purpose
There was the time when I felt completely lost — overwhelmed, exhausted, and stuck in a work environment that drained the life out of me. I remember the quiet, hopeless nights where everything felt dark… until one thing reminded me I wasn’t alone: Doris.
In those moments when I struggled to care for myself, I found comfort in knowing that I was still caring for someone — even from afar. That small connection reminded me that my life still had meaning. Supporting a guide dog in training became a turning point in my depression. It gave me a purpose — and the spark I needed to keep going.
Eventually, that spark turned into something bigger: Pupcase. I wanted to create something joyful, meaningful, and grounded in the belief that everyone deserves light in their life — especially when they’re struggling to find it.
As I began building my brand, I uncovered something heartbreaking: 1 in 6 people in the UK experience symptoms of depression. And among them, working professionals living alone — just like I was — often face some of the most severe struggles.
I want Pupcase to be more than a brand. I want it to be a community.
That’s why I started Puppy Reminders — a simple, heartfelt series of original quotes shared on our social media, inspired by pups and created to lift spirits, even just a little.
I’m also working to collaborate with puppy therapy organisations to bring young professionals together — to share, to heal, and to remind one another that they’re not alone.
Because everyone deserves a purpose. And I think I’ve finally found mine.
